About Our Founder
Nhlanhla Moyo MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My journey in the art and science of behavioral health began in the Hampton Roads of Virginia. I had the privilege of being a Psychiatric Registered Nurse at teaching hospitals, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center, and the Pavilion at Williamsburg, Virginia. Upon admission to graduate school, I became a traveling Psychiatric Registered Nurse in Texas and California.
I have extensive inpatient and outpatient experience, including Psychiatric Urgent Care Center. While in graduate school, I was mentored and continually work with one of the nation’s leading Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, James Margolis MD. As a Nurse Practitioner, I work in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is my first passion, Adult and Forensic Psychiatry. I provide holistic mental healthcare services to children, adolescents, adults, and family units.
Our Founder’s Philosophy
There are a variety of illness-specific psychotherapy modules and behavioral modification techniques that are the first line of treatment. However, they are times when drug therapy is necessary to alleviate suffering and improve the quality of life. Following a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, you and I, as a team, will decide if medication therapy is the route to take. If that is the case, I will use my knowledge in psychopharmacology to recommend medication in the lowest dose to achieve relief, advise its common side effects, and monitor you closely.
